Our Core Values

Mission
To be a House of His Glory

Vision
To be a Church of the Word & Spirit

The Presence of God
We are passionate worshippers of Jesus who love being in His Presence – it’s the difference maker! As we worship, we expect God to reveal more of Himself to us and to change us. We want to be a Church in “awe” of Jesus! We long for the greatness of our God, His works, His nature and His character to be revealed in the Church and through the Church.
John 4:24, Isaiah 6:1-8, Psalm 27:4, 63:2-4, 84:10, 95:1-2, Exodus 33:15-16, Acts 2:43.

The Kingdom of God
We seek first His kingdom, praying “Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!” We expect the realities of heaven to be seen here on earth. Jesus taught and demonstrated kingdom life through signs, wonders and miracles. We want to see God’s character and nature revealed through what we say and do. The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power!
Matthew 6:33, 6:9-10, Mark 16:15-20, Acts 1:8, 2:22, 3:1-10, 4:29-30, Romans 14:17, 15:18-19, John 14:12-14, 1 Corinthians 2:1-5, 4:20.

God’s Word
We are a people who love God’s Word and believe that His inspired infallible Word has the power to transform our lives. Better still, we are committed to living it out and to obeying it!
2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 119:105, 1 Samuel 15:22, John 14:15,21,23, Acts 20:32.

The Holy Spirit
We pursue knowing the Person of the Holy Spirit and His ways. He is our empowerer, our counselor and revealer of the ways and secrets of God. The more we obey Him the more we receive of Him.
Luke 24:49, John 14:16-17, 26, 16:13-15, Acts 1:8,2:1-4, 5:32, 10:38, Romans 14:17; 1 Corinthians 2:4, 4:20; Ephesians 5:18.

Prayer
We pray like everything depends on God. Fasting and prayer are a way of life for us. We pray Habakkuk 3:2 and Ephesians 1:17-19 prayers every day.
Habakkuk 3:2, Ephesians 1:17-19, Acts 12:5, Matthew 6:16-18, Acts 13:3, Luke 5:34-39, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Matthew 21:13.

Missions
We are a people of the Great Commission; lost people matter to God and so they matter to us. We are always looking for the one who needs to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord! Found people find people.
Matthew 28:18-20, John 1:41, Acts 1:8, Matthew 4:19, Luke 19:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:8-9, Revelation 20:15.

Loving people
We are all about people. We demonstrate our love for God by loving and accepting one another and through acts of kindness, no strings attached. We are about helping everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, connect with God in a life changing relationship and encouraging everyone to use their God given gifts and abilities to their full potential. God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things for His kingdom.
Matthew 22:39-40, 1 John 3:16-18, Acts 2:44-47, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 1 Peter 4:10, Acts 20:24, Philippians 2:2-5, Psalm 133.

Leadership
We are led by leaders of integrity who seek to honor God in all things and who are led by the Holy Spirit. We empower leaders and encourage our people to attempt great things for God and to expect great things from God. We take risks and encourage audacious faith, and we never insult God with small thinking! The best is yet to be!
1 Chronicles 29:17, Psalm 78:72, Ephesians 3:20-21, Hebrews 11:6, Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:1-4.

Generosity
We love being generous and know it is more blessed to give than to receive. It is an honor to sacrifice for Christ and His Church. God blazed the pathway of generosity in sending Jesus into this world, and we follow His lead by having a big heart and deep pockets to bless others.
John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 8:9, 9:6-15, Malachi 3:8-10, Philippians 4:15-19.

Belonging
We are owners, not merely members, of Island Church. Members have rights; owners have responsibilities. We will serve God by serving others, and if problems arise, we will be part of the solution. We are a family - we’ll have fun together. We are a team – no one person can accomplish all that God has for us as a Church. Together we can achieve amazing things for God and impact a community, a city and nations. We always give God our best and expect others to do so too.
Philippians 1:5-6, Ephesians 5:21, Philippians 2:3, Colossians 3:12-17.
